This holiday season, federal agencies and Congress are pushing major policy changes that will allow industry to place cell towers and antennas virtually anywhere in America — including near homes and schools, on neighborhood playgrounds, and in front of your church. All with no informed consent, no safety oversight, and an industry shielded from liability. And you and your town will have no say in the decisionmaking.
Communities need to act now before these decisions are locked in.
Major federal actions are moving right now, each designed to fast-track cell tower expansion and weaken local authority:
FCC Docket 25-276, a sweeping rulemaking proposal that would dramatically expand federal preemption, force rapid approvals, eliminate meaningful community participation, and allow wireless facilities to be placed almost anywhere.
H.R. 2289, a bill that would let federal agencies and telecom companies override local governments, eliminate key environmental (NEPA) and historic-preservation (NHPA) reviews, and make it easier to expand cell towers and equipment with little notice or public input.
H.R. 1343, H.R. 1588, H.R. 1665, H.R. 1681, H.R. 1731, and H.R. 6046, Congress is advancing six bills that would greatly expand federal control over wireless deployment and limit the ability of local governments to regulate where wireless facilities are installed.
Together, these actions threaten community and environmental health, safety, privacy, property values, and the basic right of residents to decide what belongs in their own neighborhoods.

FCC Moves to Silence Communities and Flood the Country with Cell Towers.
If adopted, new rules proposed by the FCC will give the wireless industry dictatorial control of cell tower placement, giving them the right to install them anywhere and everywhere – and there will be virtually nothing you can do to stop it. Tell your members of Congress and FCC Commissioners to stop these rules from being adopted!
Stop the Federal Cell Tower Takeover — Oppose H.R. 2289
Congress is moving fast on H.R. 2289, a bill that would let federal agencies and telecom companies override your community’s voice and force cell towers wherever they want, next to your house, your child’s school, in the midst of your community. This is a full-scale federal takeover — speak out NOW before it’s too late.
Congress is advancing six bills — HR 1343, 1588, 1665, 1681, 1731, and 6046 — that would greatly expand federal control over wireless deployment and limit the ability of local governments to regulate where wireless facilities are installed. We are asking Congress to amend all six bills so they do NOT apply to applications for wireless facilities or to the wired infrastructure used to deploy them.

Alert Your Local Officials About the FCC’s New Rules
Tell your mayor, city council members, zoning and planning board members, as well as any additional officials whom you know personally, about the FCC’s new proposed rules in FCC Docket 25-276.
